The Twelve Days of Christmas

This traditional lyrics of the English Christmas carol were written and published in 1909 by composer Frederic Austin. The tune itself, however has been around for hundreds of years. Just like in a game of Telephone, the lyrics changed over the years so while their may be an “official” version, some people may know slightly different words.

”Brothers Repping”

The brothers in this story are fraternity brothers-they are in the same student organization. They are represent their organization by wearing the group colors, strolling and stepping. Stepping is a form of dance that has ties to tribal dances of West Africa. The stopping, clapping and chanting you’ll find in modern stepping is based off of military was used as communication amongst slaves who were not allowed to posses drums because slave owners feared the drums would be used as.
